Shift Manager (Production): McCormick UK Ltd

McCormick UK is looking for a shift manager to join the team at its Peterborough condiments manufacturing facility. The listing is for a three on, three off shift pattern.

The successful candidate will lead an assigned shift for packaging/processing line(s) or unit(s) with overall responsibility of safety, quality, and performance across the assigned shift.

You will also be tasked with providing coaching and development of team members while setting the direction for the shift team to ensure overall performance of the department to meet objectives.

Responsibilities also include participating in and/or leading cross-functional improvement teams, performing technician job duties if needed, act as a team manager if needed, and planning crew structure and replacements (shift patterns and holidays).

Candidates will need to have previous leadership and manufacturing experience, as well as an understanding of the manufacturing environment and how plant performance impacts supply chain function.

Other requirements include a strong understanding of PDCA methodology, knowledge of Office 365 & SAP (or another enterprise resource planning tool), mechanical aptitude and proven experience in problem solving.

Compliance Team Lead: Ashbury

Ashbury is looking to hire two 12-month full term contracts, leading a team of experts to deliver product information reviews and advice to one or more clients.

Acting as the technical face of Ashbury to its clients, you will be called upon to resolve issues, discuss ways of working and support the sale of new services.

Key responsibilities in the role include the day-to-day management of one or more client accounts, client facing and facilitating delivery by ensuring clear guidance is provided to clients and suppliers.

To be in with a chance for the role, you will need a degree level qualification in food or a regulatory subject with sound technical knowledge – or able to demonstrate excellent relevant experience. You will need in-depth regulatory and/or technical knowledge in an area of responsibility, including codes of practice, policies and guidance.

Candidates are required to have practical experience of using specification or artwork packages, have a minimum of two years’ experience working in a technical or regulatory role and be fluent in spoken and written English.

Hygiene Manager: The Bread Factory Ltd

The Bread Factory is on the lookout for a new hygiene manager to join the operations department at its London site.

Should you be successful, you’ll be expected to take on a wide range of tasks including – but not limited to – the maintenance and development of the manufacturer’s deep cleaning programmes, the development of hygiene KPIs and developing, reviewing and updating standard operating procedures and Cleaning Instruction Cards.

You will also be expected to work with bakery production managers to ensure hygiene standards are maintained and developed to remain aligned with the expectations of third-party audit requirements and customer requirements.

Applicants for the role will need more than five years of experience in food manufacturing, preferably in a technical role, and a Level 3 HACCP certification. You will also need to have previous experience in a production hygiene environment and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Senior Compliance Manager: National Farmers’ Union

  • Salary: c. £60k per annum
  • Location: based in Wissington, Norfolk

A permanent position has opened up for a senior compliance manager to join the National Farmers’ Union (NFU).

The senior compliance manager recruits, trains and leads the 16 strong seasonal team based in British Sugar’s four factories who monitor every load of sugar beet delivered and sampled, and monitor the analysis of those samples (which determines what growers are paid).

Your working year will be split into two distinct halves. During the six month campaign in which sugar beet is picked, you and your team will ensure that the many and varied agreed procedures and processes are followed by British Sugar staff. You will also manage the formal review process when growers challenge the fairness of their payments.

Outside of the campaign, outside of prepare for the next campaign, you will have the opportunity to increase your skillset and experience by working on other aspects of NFU Sugar’s broad agenda.

The successful candidate will have experience of compliance / quality assurance roles within the manufacturing environment and line management experience within an operational environment.

The NFU is looking for someone who is diplomatic and tactful, can act as positive role model for the rest of the team, works well under pressure and can communicate technical and non-technical information no matter what the medium or who the audience is.
