Construction of a new head office for Granarolo UK & Midland Chilled Foods has been announced following fire in 2023.

Granarolo UK, a subsidiary of Granarolo S.p.A, Italy, is building a new head office and distribution centre in Willenhall, West Midlands, backed by a significant £10m investment.

The investment follows a fire in 2023 that necessitated a new construction and comes with the added benefit of a larger footprint expansion and room for future development.

The site will also be used by subsidiary and wholesaler Midland Chilled Foods.

Designed to enhance operational efficiency and improve customer engagement, the new facility will feature advanced frozen, chilled, and ambient storage and distribution capabilities, boasting space for more than 4,500 pallets.

The facility will also include modern office spaces for the team, as well as a dedicated new product development and test kitchen. This kitchen will serve as an innovative hub for customer presentations and collaborations.

Sustainability is at the core of the new site, with various environmental initiatives integrated into the construction. Notably, the installation of solar panels is anticipated to reduce the company’s carbon dioxide emissions by more than 50 tonnes each year, reflecting our commitment to a greener future.

The new head office is set to open in Q4 of this year.
