In 19 IKEA restaurants across the UK, ‘THIS™ Isn’t Pork Sausages’ will be sold as part of the updated ‘Veggie Sausage & Mash’ meal.
Set to go on sale for £4.95 this month, the dish features three sausages, served alongside mashed potatoes, a leek and cabbage mix and gravy.
“We’re thrilled to partner with IKEA to bring our sausages to even more people – two purpose-driven brands working together to serve great food,” said THIS chief executive Mark Cuddigan.
“The only instruction you’ll need for our sausages is… eat them before someone else does!"
THIS has become a leading player in the plant-based category in recent years and has marked Veganuary 2025 with new listings in Sainsbury’s and Asda.
The brand’s range of pork, beef, chicken and lamb alternative products are available nationwide at major supermarkets, restaurants and cafes.
IKEA expands foodservice footprint
Founded in 1984 in Sweden, IKEA arrived in the UK three years later with the opening of a store in Warrington.
Today, it has 20 full-sized stores in the country, as well as one city store, one order and collection point, and three plan and order points.
In October 2024, the retailer opened its first UK high street restaurant in Hammersmith, which serves traditional Swedish meatballs and plant balls, and a range of other options such as fish and pasta dishes.
Commenting on the retailer’s decision to expand its position within foodservice, market manager at IKEA London City Matthew Gould said: “We know how much our customers love the IKEA restaurant and we’re excited to celebrate the opening of our very first high street restaurant.
“Fans of our delicious dishes can recharge during their shopping trip with our famous Swedish meatballs, pop in for a traditional Swedish ‘fika’ break for coffee and a sweet treat, or find an affordable meal for the kids right on the high street.”
