The label on packs of ‘Farmfoods 50 Cocktail Sausage Rolls’ does not mention that the cheese and onion flavoured rolls contain milk.
This means that the product poses a health risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.
The Farmfoods branded rolls are sold in 700g bags, with the recall relating to packs with a batch code of L4295 and a best before date of October 2025.
Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling this product to warn customers about the labelling error and urge anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk not to eat it.
Consumers can also return the product to a Farmfoods store for a full refund. Specialising in discounted frozen food products, Farmfoods has more than 300 retail stores as well as four distribution centres in the UK.
Meanwhile, David Wood Baking manufactures private label baked products for retailers and brands from its eight locations across the UK.
The baker was recently fined £573,344 after an investigation into three incidents at its facilities that left three separate employees injured.
The fine was issued on 19 December 2024 at Manchester Magistrates’ Court, with the incidents dating back to 2022.
Recall update
Elsewhere, an ongoing recall of Turkish delight products that contain undeclared milk has been updated by TJX Europe.
Initially, just four SKUs were included in the recall – 250g packs of Chocolate Covered Lemon Turkish Delight, Chocolate Covered Strawberry Turkish Delight and Chocolate Covered Pistachio Turkish Delight, and 225g packs of Sultans Chocolate Covered Pistachio Turkish Delight.
However, a further five varieties have since been added, all of which feature a 15 October 2026 best before date.
This includes 250g packs of Sultans Chocolate Covered Rose Delight, Sultans Chocolate Covered Pomegranate Delight and Sultans Chocolate Covered Almond Delight, and 225g packs of Sultans Chocolate Covered Ginger Turkish Delight and Sultans Chocolate Covered Rose Turkish Delight.
New recall notices are being issued in TK Maxx or Homesense stores urging anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk to avoid consuming the contents and return the pack to any TJX Europe owned location for a refund or a replacement.
