Suntory Beverage & Food GB&I has issued a statement urging consumers not to worry about Lucozade availability this summer.

After an incident in April 2024 which saw a worker killed at a Lucozade production facility in Coleford, Gloucestershire, manufacturing was paused which subsequently led to fears over shortages of the soft drink.

However, in a new statement issued by Suntory Beverage & Food GB&I, the firm did not appear concerned about stocks running low.

"There's no need for Lucozade fans to panic this summer,” said Alpesh Mistry, sales director at Suntory Beverage & Food GB&I.

“We continue to produce our most loved Lucozade flavours across Energy and Sport - which account for nearly 90% of Lucozade sales.

"Production was paused only temporarily, but our lines have since been up and running and we are working hard to ensure people continue to get the drinks they love, when they want them this summer."

The incident, which occurred in the warehouse at the facility, led to a 50-year-old man being airlifted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he later died.

An investigation has been launched into what occurred by the Health & Safety Executive and Gloucestershire Police.

In other news, a complaint has been submitted to the Competition and Markets Authority over the use of 'responsibly sourced' claims made about scampi products sold in the UK, which the charity Open Seas allege are misleading.
