Fast and accurate weighing of mini chocolate bars

For faster and more accurate weighing of its mini chocolate bars, Dubai-based confectionery manufacturer Seville Products has installed two DACS-Zenith checkweighers supplied by Ishida Europe.

Seville Products, which produces brands such as Quanta, Gotcha and Take 5, wanted to ensure that the 17.5g target weight for the bars was being met constantly without slowing down the high throughput on the lines.

The DACS-Zenith has been developed for high-speed lines and allows the identification of even the slightest deviation from pre-programmed parameters to deliver accuracy within 0.2g. At Seville Products the machines are operating at 600 packs a minute. The individual bars are flow-wrapped prior to checkweighing and subsequently filled into 200g bag multi-packs.

The checkweigher’s electromagnetic weighing sensors for high-speed weighing and digital filter technology that eliminates external noise and interference result in improved weighing accuracy and optimum performance, even under difficult factory conditions. Quick release conveyors, smooth contours, and a large colour touchscreen display reduce downtime for cleaning and product changeover.
