Lancashire-based brewer Moorhouse’s has appointed Mark Boardman as its new national accounts controller from Blackburn-based brewer Thwaites.

Boardman, who has almost 30 years’ experience in the brewing and drinks industry, had been national trade manager at Thwaites for the last decade.

He said he saw a “great opportunity” at Moorhouse’s.

‘Saw an opportunity’

“I saw an opportunity at Moorhouse’s because, if you go back five or six years it is like where we were at Thwaites,” he said. “There is a new brewery and it is a great opportunity to help grow and shape Moorhouse’s national business.”

Moorhouse’s also announced it had surpassed the milestone of five million pints a year at its two-year old £4.2M brewery, trebling former brewing capacity to more than 1,000 barrels a week.

David Grant, md of Moorhouse’s said: “It is crucial we build on our investment in the new brewery and grow business, both with national UK pub companies and abroad. Mark has the knowledge and experience to play an invaluable role.”
