Pasta Foods snaps up Norwich pasta plant
The Forest Way plant includes a new production line, plus additional warehouse space and adds to the company’s existing factory at Pasteur Road, Great Yarmouth. It will take its total number of staff to 190 within three years, the firm believes.
It incorporated equipment that was too large to fit into the Great Yarmouth site, said Pasta Foods md Karl Jermyn.
‘Growth in demand’
“The business has been growing successfully and the board concluded that we should invest significant sums to add capacity to our current production facilities to capture the growth in demand for our products,” said Jermyn.
“The new facility … will allow us to move forward with the project and will meet our objectives of supporting growth and employment in Norfolk and Suffolk.”
Dr Andy Wood, chairman of New Anglia LEP, which is also seeking to provide funding for other firms, said: “This is an exciting development for Pasta Foods and we’re really pleased to offer a £500k grant to help the company expand and create more jobs for the future.”
‘Vote of confidence’
Colleen Walker, cabinet member for economic development, added: “It is so encouraging to get this vote of confidence in Norfolk as a place to do business and to invest.”
