Seafood processor Falfish has invested millions in expanding production capacity at its plant in Redruth, Cornwall, driven by demand from customers in the UK and overseas.

The company has confirmed it has completed the two-stage construction project, which entailed extensions to its dispatch and goods-in areas in partnership with construction specialist ProjectLink.

The first phase of the construction programme, which lasted 18 months and was completed last year, involved extending and redesigning Falfish’s temperature-controlled dispatch area.

Fast, level loading

A loading dock with recessed approach ramp was built to allow for fast, level loading of products on to refrigerated vehicles before distributing them to customers.

The extensions led to the need for more office space, which ProjectLink has designed and is now constructing on the first floor of the 450.6m2 phase two extension.

“ProjectLink’s carefully considered approach to our requirements has resulted in an intelligent design that is delivering genuine and practical benefits to the business,” said Falfish md Mark Greet.

Falfish was able to continue production throughout the construction process, claimed ProjectLink.
