Nuts contaminated with foreign bodies

Leo’s Import Export & Trading has recalled its ‘Buram Cerezli Nuts in Syrup’ because of the possible contamination with foreign bodies.

The recalled batches have a best before date of 30 April 2025 or 30 June 2025, and are sold in 420g jars.

In the recall notice issued by Leo’s Import Export & Trading, the firm said that it had received notification from the manufacturer of the product which warned of the possible contamination. It also instructed anyone that has purchased the nuts not to consume them and to return the product for a full refund.

Based in London, Leo’s Import Export & Trading supplies a broad range of food and drink products sourced from around the world.

Undeclared milk on hazelnut packaging

Harvey Nichols is recalling an own brand range of chocolate hazelnuts because it contains milk which is not mentioned on the label.

This means that the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

The ‘Harvey Nichols Lustrous Hazelnuts in Dark Chocolate’ are sold in 175g packs, feature a best before date of 30 September 2024 or 30 October 2024 and a batch code of 231012, 231017, 230926 or 240228.

Harvey Nichols has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.

The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers which informs anyone that has bought the product with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents not to eat it. Instead, the can return the product for a full refund.

The notice reads: “We apologise to our customers for any inconvenience caused. Please contact us for any further information.”

In other news, the president of a Mexican seafood trade body, Minerva Pérez Castro, was shot dead after calling out illegal fishing in the country.
