M&S and Gist sign £2bn supply contract
Marks & Spencer (M&S) has signed a 10-year contract with supply chain specialist Gist worth £2bn.
Gist has provided supply chain services for the high street retail chain for more than 35 years, so the agreement continues the long-standing relationship between them.
In addition to Gist's existing management of M&S's UK food supply chain, the deal means it will also take on its interests in southern Ireland. It will also be responsible for the delivery of all frozen food and bread products to M&S stores.
"A fast and efficient supply chain is fundamental to our food business and Gist is an organisation we can trust to meet our needs," said Ian Mumby, head of M&S food logistics.
Gist chief executive, Martin Gwynn, said: "We are delighted to be extending, both in terms of scope and time, our truly valued relationship with M&S."
